State Highway 1
This work is part of the Stage 2 completion works for the Te Aranui o Te Rangihaeata – Transmission Gully motorway project.
Approximate dates for work in 2024/2025
Note: the following dates are dependent on weather and other factors, and could be subject to change.
- SH1 Southbound prior to SH58 offramp
1 October to 13 December 2024
Earthworks beside the Transmission Gully motorway to reshape the hillside and complete drainage. Works will be visible to motorists but delays are not expected.
- SH1 between Bridge 18 and Bridge 20
1 October 2025 to 30 April 2025
Work this summer under Wai o Hata (Bridge 19) and Te Ara a Toa (Bridge 20) to restore streams and complete earthworks and drainage in Belmont Regional Park. There may be minor delays at times for motorists SH1 southbound by Bridge 18 for truck access to and from SH1. Work also affects walking paths in Belmont Regional Park. State Highway 58
There are several recreational and shared paths planned as part of the final phase of the motorway project. Additional work will happen in 2025 to complete the Pāuatahanui stream recreational path and the landscaping around the SH58 Interchange.
