From February 2025 to January 2026, NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi will be carrying out essential bridge maintenance on Span 1, which is located over Te Onewa Pā at Stokes Point Reserve.
For public safety there will be changes to Te Onewa Pā access.
Dates for the full access closure may change based on programme progress or request from council.
From Monday 17 February to January 2026.
We will be working during the daytime, Monday to Friday between 7am and 5.30pm.
Saturday work may be considered. If Saturday work is required that may disrupt residents, notification will be provided in advance.
Our team will be carrying out maintenance in an enclosed environment to reduce noise and dust. The work being undertaken includes removing coatings back to the steel and repainting, to prevent corrosion. Refer to the below schedule and diagram for timeframes and impact to access of Te Onewa Pā.
*Note approximate months have been advertised and may change depending on programme progress.
