Work category 131: Level crossing warning devices

 

Introduction

This work category provides for the Approved Organisation to share the costs associated with maintenance, renewal, upgrading and installation of level crossing warning devices carried out by the relevant rail track authority.

 

This definition applies to the 2012-15 NLTP.  For the 2015-18 NLTP please refer to the updated definition for work category 131.

 

Qualifying activities

Examples of qualifying activities incorporates:

  • activities included in a list of priority works provided by the relevant rail track authority to the NZTA:
    • only work that is on the priority list is eligible for funding assistance.
    • an invoice from the relevant rail track authority must back up claims.

 

Funding assistance rate

The relevant rail track authority and the Approved Organisation share equally the cost of installation and maintenance of crossing alarms and barriers.

 

Where, under a deed of grant by the relevant rail track authority, an Approved Organisation is required to pay the full cost, this cost is accepted for funding assistance.

 

The usual funding assistance rate is:

  • 100 percent of the Approved Organisation’s share of the cost.
