Introduction

This work category A type of activity – not confined to a particular activity class, e.g. new roads (work category 323) appears in:

* activity class 12 – local road improvements
* activity class 13 – state highways improvements
provides guidance on the Transport Agency's research programme.

 

The Transport Agency manages this programme and purchases research from external researchers.

 

Examples of qualifying activities

Examples of qualifying activities include:

  • directed research (proposals requested by the Transport Agency);
  • Austroads Research;
  • management of the research programme.
The Transport Agency's Research Programme Framework provides clear research objectives and helps to focus the approach to research investment, and hence defines the activities required to achieve the objectives.

 

Exclusions

This work category A type of activity – not confined to a particular activity class, e.g. new roads (work category 323) appears in:

* activity class 12 – local road improvements
* activity class 13 – state highways improvements
excludes research to support the Transport Agency's activities. This is funded under work category 911: management of the funding allocation system.
