The 4.8km Rangiriri section of the Waikato Expressway opened to traffic on all four lanes and at 100km/h at Easter 2017, later moving to 110km/h.

Key features

The Rangiriri section:

  • connects the Longswamp and Ohinewai sections of the Expressway
  • improves connectivity from Auckland to Huntly and further south
  • improves safety, particularly for those using the Rangiriri and Te Kauwhata intersections
  • provides improved connections for the community.
