Starting in early March, we will be clearing vegetation along SH2 between Pākōwhai Road and Taradale Road. We will be removing the large willow trees south of the Tutaekuri River Bridge first and then moving north. All vegetation is within the land already designated for road.  

This work should take around 4 weeks to complete. You can find the detailed vegetation removal plans linked below.

We understand that people may have concerns about trees and shrubs being removed. We will only remove what is required to enable construction and activities such as geotechnical investigations. We will be grassing completed earthworks sections and will also consider landscaping/planting opportunities as part of the project.
