To enable the construction of new stage 1 structures, we need to investigate the ground conditions alongside the expressway between Kennedy Road and Tutaekuri River Bridge.
We are planning to begin this work in late February, and it is expected to take around 4 weeks.
The work will involve bringing in specialist equipment and drilling into the ground to retrieve samples.
There will also be a drilling rig in the Tutaekuri River.
We are working closely with mana whenua to manage work near and in the river. Cultural monitors will be in place on site during the works to ensure work is managed in a culturally appropriate way.
There will be minimal impact to road users as a result of the geotech investigations. Closures of the outside lanes of Meeanee Road and Kennedy Road may be required to place measuring equipment.
