We want to make roads safer for everyone. Variable speed limits are one way we can help make roads safer for children outside of schools.
During February and March 2020, we asked the public for feedback on a proposed variable speed limit outside Kaukapakapa School that would lower the speed limit from 50km/h to 40km/h during peak school traffic times.
We received 111 submissions from stakeholder organisations and the public, and have used this feedback to make our decision. The outcome of our speed review is to proceed with our 40km/h variable speed limit proposal.
The new variable speed limit will apply from 24 August 2020.
