Application of network documents

Networks and services must be planned, constructed, operated and maintained in accordance with the technical documents in the NZ Transport Agency register of network standards and guidelines and the Register process manual for network standards and guidelines.

Any requests for departure from this policy must be directed in writing to our (Waka Kotahi as investor) National Investment Manager. It is Waka Kotahi policy that funding will be provided only to that portion of a network or to services that comply with the register and the process manual.

Over-width carriageways, footpaths, cycleways and structures

Maintenance and renewal of existing over-width carriageways, footpaths, cycleways and structures will be eligible for funding assistance where this has been demonstrated to be the most cost-effective option. This applies, in particular, to the following work categories:
