Work category 442 provides for operational activities associated with the coastal shipping activity class.

Qualifying activitiesBack to top

Work category 442 is available to the following activity class:

• coastal shipping.

Examples of qualifying activities

Examples of qualifying activities include, but may not be limited to:

• new or enhanced domestic sea freight services
• operational improvements to reduce sector emissions, including testing new technologies
• research to inform government decisions on support for the sector.

Exclusions

Work category 442 excludes:

• investment in infrastructure improvements – eligible costs are funded under work category 446.

Funding assistance ratesBack to top

The usual funding assistance rate (FAR) is:

• 100% of the Waka Kotahi agreed share of the total costs of an approved activity.

Submitting activities for NLTP consideration and funding approvalBack to top

Waka Kotahi (for its own activities) submits these activities using the improvements module in Transport Investment Online (TIO).
