IntroductionBack to top

Transport Agency policy is that weight restrictions on roading facilities, where these are shown to be the best economic option, should be imposed and continued. Where the cost of renewal, reinstatement or structural upgrading of any roading facility is determined to be uneconomic, such works will not be eligible for funding assistance as a rule.

The Transport Agency will continue to provide funding assistance for the cost-effective maintenance of the facility.
