Work to reduce rockfall risk above SH6 north of Haast and south of Knights Point near the Epitaph slip site comes to an end next week, says NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).
A major road asphalting project in Ashburton, affecting night-time travel, due to start this Sunday, 30 March, will now begin Friday, 4 April. The work is due to run for five or so weeks.
State Highway 6 Dellows Bluff, south of Murchison, will be free of containers and back to two lanes by Wednesday 9 April, as contractors pause work to refine and improve plans to repair the slip.
People who drive through the Lower Buller Gorge, east of Westport, will face a 2-hour closure of SH6 next Thursday 3 April, for rock blasting. The highway will be closed from midday to 2pm.

Road Reconstruction:
Extra time is needed to complete road reconstruction work on State Highway 6 near Pelorus.
