As the State Highway 2 Otoko Hill recovery work enters its final phase, crews are ready to begin work on the last of nine projects helping to make this section of highway safer and more reliable for Tairāwhiti communities.
Over the past few weeks Eastern Bay of Plenty highways have been a hive of activity with crews busy resurfacing State Highway 2 (SH2) in the Waioweka Gorge (and carrying out other general maintenance work) which is due to be completed on Wednesday 26 February.
A reminder a stretch of SH3 at the Vogel Street / Woodlands Road bend will be closed for 5 weeks from today, as the new Te Ahu a Turanga: Manawatū-Tararua Highway roundabout is completed.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) has re-opened the northern section of the State Highway 1 Desert Road between Tūrangi to Rangipō to traffic from noon today (Friday 21 February).
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is reminding drivers to plan ahead as State Highway 2 (SH2) through the Waioweka Gorge will be closed between 10am and 6pm daily on Monday 24 February, Tuesday 25 February and Wednesday 26 February to complete essential maintenance work.
UPDATE: Asphalt resurfacing on two stretches of State Highway 2 Hawke’s Bay Expressway has been rescheduled to take place early next month instead of this week.
