Waka Kotahi is advising motorists to plan for southbound overnight motorway closures on State Highway 1 between Tawa and Churton Park scheduled for early March.
Following the routine structural inspection of the one-lane Raukokere River Bridge on State Highway 35 north of Ōpōtiki on the East Cape, a reduced weight restriction to heavy vehicle loading is in place.

Work to reseal State Highway 1 between Napier Road and Centennial Drive on the East Taupō Arterial that was due for completion 18 February, has been disrupted due to weather constraints, and will continue until 25 Feb.

Due to poor weather conditions, the work which was due to commence on Sunday 13 February, was postponed, and will now begin on Sunday 20 February and take place over two consecutive weeks.
Waka Kotahi is advising drivers to allow at least an extra 45 minutes for journeys between Featherston and Martinborough on SH53, with a detour in place around the Waihenga Bridge, which remains closed following this weekend’s flooding.
