Road users can expect delays if they’re travelling on State Highway 58 this Friday night, and Friday night the following week, as a section of the highway is having its final road surface laid between Transmission Gully and Bradey Road
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is advising people travelling towards Hinds in Mid Canterbury from the Rangitata side to be ready for a detour Thursday after 9 am.
Good progress is being made on the re-surfacing work on the Otira Gorge, part of the Arthur’s Pass SH73 route connecting the West Coast and Canterbury, says the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA).
Drivers travelling between Picton and Blenheim can expect delays tomorrow (Tuesday, 5 December) as contractors continue repair works on State Highway 1 at the Picton Elevation.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency says that favourable weather forecast from Tuesday (5 December) on the Arthur’s Pass/ Otira gorge alpine route means that resurfacing will begin after 10 am with a full highway closure to 6 pm.
