Having route and destination (‘wayfinding’) signage is important in promoting facilities and making them user friendly. Comprehensive directional signs assist people on bikes to easily navigate to their trip destinations, builds user confidence in the system, increases personal safety, and improves information and access to community facilities.

This guidance details the design and manufacture of a comprehensive sign system covering primary and local cycle routes located in on-road or off-road environments.
