Key messages

• Drugs are present in nearly a third of all fatal crashes on our roads. This is when a driver in a crash where people died, is found to have drugs in their blood.
• The two drugs most commonly present in road deaths and serious injuries are cannabis and methamphetamine.
• If you’ve taken drugs, do not drive. You could harm yourself or others. Plan a safe ride.
