Otago Regional Council

In the 2018–21 NLTP, $54 million of Public transport projects have been approved for funding in the Otago district. This includes almost $16 million of funding in the latest prioritisation round for Public transport ticketing improvements, Public transport infrastructure, Wakatipu Basin and Queenstown Lakes Public transport improvements and construction of stock truck effluent disposal facilities.

Funding has also been approved for the detailed business case for small ferry services in the Wakatipu Basin, for which the implementation funding is likely in the NLTP period.

Dunedin City Council

In the 2018–21 NLTP, $145 million of land transport projects have been approved for funding in Dunedin. This includes almost $40 million of funding in the latest prioritisation round for Local road improvements and walking and cycling projects: construction funding for Portobello Road improvements, LED street lighting upgrades, and work on Harington Point Road and the Puddle Alley/Dukes Road intersection. Funding has been approved for the central city safety and accessibility upgrade indicative business case and a range of central city and city to harbour cycling and walking projects.

A further $8.4 million of Local road improvements and walking and cycling projects are likely to be funded this NLTP period.

Queenstown Lakes District Council

In the 2018–21 NLTP, $53 million of land transport projects have been approved for funding in the Queenstown Lakes district. This includes $2.7 million of funding in the latest prioritisation round for Local road improvements – dangerous tree removal, Rees River Bridge protection, stabilisation work on Crown Range and street lights upgrades to LEDs – and the detailed business case for the Wakatipu Active Travel Network.

A further $15.7 million is likely to be approved for funding a range of projects, such as traffic management, the Wanaka Masterplan, park and ride services, walking and cycling projects and water taxi/ferry services.

The detailed business case for the replacement Hina Hina Bridge has also been funded, with the $1.5 million for implementation work also likely to be funded.
