Traffic notices provide a brief overview of upcoming temporary night closures and road layout changes.

All closures are subject to change depending on weather and ground conditions. Full and/or partial (single lane) road closures have been scheduled as follows:
SH1 Southern Motorway - southbound
- Sunday 6 April - Tuesday 8 April: All southbound motorway lanes will be closed between Papakura Interchange and Drury Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A southbound detour will be in place between the two interchanges along Beach Road and Great South Road.
SH1 Southern Motorway - northbound
- Sunday 6 April - Monday 7 April: All northbound motorway lanes will be closed between Drury Interchange and Papakura Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A northbound detour will be in place between the two interchanges along Great South Road and Beach Road.
- Tuesday 8 April: All northbound motorway lanes will be closed between Ramarama Interchange and Papakura Interchange from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A northbound detour will be in place between these interchanges along Ararimu Road, Great South Road and Beach Road.
- Wednesday 9 April: The Drury northbound on-ramp will be closed from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A detour to Papakura Interchange via Great South Road and Beach Road will be in place.
- Wednesday 9 April - Thursday 10 April: The Drury northbound off-ramp will be closed from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A detour to Papakura Interchange and back via Beach Road and Great South Road will be in place.
SH22/Great South Road
- Sunday 6 April - Monday 7 April: A single westbound lane will be closed between the Drury southbound on-ramp and Mercer Street from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single westbound lane will remain open to traffic.
- Tuesday 8 April - Wednesday 9 April: All eastbound lanes will be closed between the Ngakaroa Stream bridge and the Drury northbound on-ramp from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. The southern side of the road will remain open to traffic in both directions, with temporary traffic signals in place.
- Thursday 10 April: All westbound lanes will be closed between the Drury northbound off-ramp and the Ngakaroa Stream bridge from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. The northern side of the road will remain open to traffic in both directions, with temporary traffic signals in place.
Mercer Street, Drury
- Sunday 6 April: Mercer Street will be closed at the SH22 / Great South Road intersection from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. Access will be maintained for residents only.
- Monday 7 April: If required for contingency purposes, Mercer Street will be closed at the SH22 / Great South Road intersection from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. Access will be maintained for residents only.
- Thursday 10 April: Mercer Street will be closed at the SH22 / Great South Road intersection from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. Access will be maintained for residents only.
Victoria Street, Drury (southern end between SH22 / Great South Road and Drury sports complex)
- From 9pm on Tuesday 8 April and for 24/7 until notified otherwise: All lanes will be closed on the southern end of Victoria Street. A detour to access the Drury sports complex via Great South Road, Firth Street and Bremner Road will be in place.
Victoria Street, Drury (northern end between Drury sports complex and Bremner Road)
- Monday 7 April - Friday 11 April: One lane will be closed at the northern end of Victoria Street during the day from 7am to 6pm. A single lane will remain open for two-way traffic with traffic signals in place. Vehicle and pedestrian access to the Drury sports complex will remain open.
- Monday 7 April: One lane will be closed at the northern end of Victoria Street from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single lane will remain open for two-way traffic with traffic signals in place. Vehicle and pedestrian access to the Drury sports complex will also remain open.
- Wednesday 9 April: One lane will be closed at the northern end of Victoria Street from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single lane will remain open for two-way traffic with traffic signals in place. Vehicle and pedestrian access to the Drury sports complex will also remain open.
- Thursday 10 April: If required for contingency purposes, one lane will be closed at the northern end of Victoria Street from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single lane will remain open for two-way traffic with traffic signals in place. Vehicle and pedestrian access to the Drury sports complex will also remain open.
Bremner Road, Drury
- Monday 7 April - Friday 11 April: One lane will be closed between the motorway overbridge and Tributary Parade during the day from 7am to 6pm. A single lane will remain open for two-way traffic with traffic signals in place. Vehicle and pedestrian access will also be maintained to all properties.
- Sunday 6 April - Monday 7 April: One lane will be closed between Faithful Drive and the Ngakaroa Stream bridge from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single lane will remain open for two-way traffic with traffic signals in place. Vehicle and pedestrian access will also be maintained to all properties.
- Tuesday 8 April: One lane will be closed between the Ngakaroa Stream bridge and Tributary Parade from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single lane will remain open for two-way traffic with traffic signals in place. Vehicle and pedestrian access will also be maintained to all properties.
- Wednesday 9 April: One lane will be closed between the motorway overbridge and Tributary Parade from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single lane will remain open for two-way traffic with traffic signals in place. Vehicle and pedestrian access will also be maintained to all properties.
- Thursday 10 April: If required for contingency purposes, one lane will be closed between the motorway overbridge and Tributary Parade from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single lane will remain open for two-way traffic with traffic signals in place. Vehicle and pedestrian access will also be maintained to all properties.
Tributary Parade, Drury
- Tuesday 8 April: One lane will be closed between Bremner Road and Karihi Road from 9pm at night to 5am the following morning. A single lane will remain open for two-way traffic with traffic signals in place. Vehicle and pedestrian access will also be maintained to all properties.
Motorists are advised to take extra care and follow the posted detour route/s.

Over-Dimension route – detour information
Due to construction works on Stage 1B of the SH1 Papakura to Drury project, the standard Over-Dimension route between Drury and Ramarama Interchanges along Victoria Street and Bremner Road is no longer available.
See the map below showing the current Over-Dimension detour route that is now operational between Drury and Ramarama Interchanges. This detour route may be subject to further change in future, when notified.
While the project is underway, NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi has also granted explicit authority, subject to special conditions, for operators of Over-Dimension vehicles to have limited access on Auckland’s Southern Motorway between Ararimu Road (Ramarama Interchange) and Beach Road (Papakura Interchange) until replaced or revoked. A copy of that authority is included below.
