R5-2

No pedestrians

R5-2 signs may be installed:

  • on a cycle path, but only when a suitable pedestrian path which has been indicated by an R5-5) sign is available and continued use of the cycle path by pedestrians is expected; and
  • when physical barriers to pedestrian movement are not feasible (eg at entrances to motorways).

No sign other than an R5-2 No cycling sign may be attached to an R5-1 sign or its support.

R5-5

Pedestrians

Pedestrians must use the route indicated to proceed beyond the sign.

Table 15‑2 notes:

  1. The sign should be located where approaching pedestrians have an uninterrupted view of it over a distance of at least 30m.
  2. If installed in conjunction with an R5-1 sign, the R5-2 sign should be located above that sign.
