Throughout 2019, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency partnered with councils across New Zealand to help them through the planning, delivery and monitoring of Innovating Street projects.

A lot was achieved and learned through the hard work of teams at councils and the support of local politicians and senior managers. Case studies have been developed from those projects, and learnings from them will inform the support options to be developed for project teams over April–June 2020.

The case studies listed below also include projects from across New Zealand that were completed prior to the Innovating Streets programme. These are profiled here because of their alignment with the outcomes and approaches sought by Innovating Streets projects.
