Learn to be a safe and responsible rider with The official New Zealand road code for motorcycling. It has all the information you need to get your motorcycle learner licence.

The road code is about Aotearoa New Zealand’s traffic law and safe driving practices, which you’ll be tested on when you sit your theory and practical riding tests. It covers a range of topics including the legal responsibilities of vehicle owners and the legal requirements for your vehicle.

All references to motorcycles include mopeds and motor scooters unless otherwise stated.

We've also included the questions you could be asked when you sit the theory test for your motorcycle learner licence.
