Land Transport Rule: Street Layouts 2023

The objective of the Rule is to:

  • empower road controlling authorities to prohibit or restrict access to roadways and to change the use of roadways, including by creating school streets; and
  • empower road controlling authorities to install, as a pilot, street layout changes on a road as a form of consultation; and
  • set out rules for the authorisation of, access to and use of community streets.

The Rule was notified in the Gazette on 21 July 2023 and comes into force on 21 August 2023.

Rule versions
