The NZ Transport Agency conducted an survey in 2018 to understand the experiences of people cycle touring in New Zealand. The information is used to help us plan investment to improve cycle tourists’ experiences.

Included are maps of the North and South Islands of:

• the routes ridden by cycle tourists who responded to the survey 
  
• the roads most enjoyed by cycle tourists who responded to the survey
• the roads least enjoyed by cycle tourists who responded to the survey.
