Introduction

The approved organisation’s or Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency’s (for its own activities) share of the cost of relocating services is eligible for funding assistance. This must either be included in the request for funding approval within the scope of a project, or be an activity within the relevant activity class and work category. The service authority’s share of the costs is to be treated as supplementary funding and shared between the approved organisation, if applicable, and Waka Kotahi (for its own activities).

Code of practice

The respective responsibilities, including responsibility for costs of road controlling authorities (approved organisations and Waka Kotahi (for its own activities)) and service authorities for service location and relocation are set out in the sector’s National code of practice for utility operators' access to transport corridors.
