Optioneering is the commonly used term to describe the in-depth consideration of various alternatives and options to find the best or preferred alternative or option for an investment proposal. It uses a ‘sifting approach’ to move from a longlist of alternatives or options to a shortlist, and then to identify a preferred option to present to decision makers.
