Tolling email scams say you have outstanding tolls to pay and may say you risk a late payment fee. They may also include an attached invoice.
How to tell it's not a genuine email from us
- Check the common signs of a scam
- Check for attachments. Our genuine tolling emails don't have attachments.
- Hover over links asking you to pay a toll or log into your tolling account, before you click on them. Our genuine links start with tollingonline.nzta.govt.nz – if it doesn't match, it’s likely to be a scam.
- Check the sender – we don't use other companies (like EZPass) to send toll payment emails.
If you're not sure, always go to our website and search for 'pay a toll' or 'toll account' to find what you need instead of clicking on links.
