Works to rebuild SH2 in Awakeri get underway next week

|

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists to expect delays on State Highway 2 at Awakeri between Murphy Rd and Station Rd from Monday 13 January, as work to strengthen and rebuild the road gets underway.

Bay of Plenty System Manager Rob Campbell encourages motorists to drive with care through the site and obey temporary speed limits to ensure the safety of road workers and other motorists.

“The road will operate under Stop/Go traffic management during the day with a 30km/h temporary speed limit in place during the day and a 50km/h temporary speed limit overnight.”

Works are expected to be completed by mid-February, weather dependent.

“The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience.”

Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey this summer. Keep up to date with:
