Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency will be undertaking urgent road repairs on several sites on State Highway 3 between Inglewood and Eltham between 10am and 10pm tomorrow (Friday 7 May).
The approximate locations are:
Traffic management will be in place, including traffic lights and speed restrictions of 30km/h. Delays could be up to 10–20 minutes at each site (up to one hour cumulative delays).
Traffic failing to adhere to the temporary speed limits when travelling through these sites is causing damage to the surface and delaying the completion of these repairs. It is critical that these repairs are completed before winter. People can help reduce disruption by sticking to temporary speed limits.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys or consider using State Highway 45. They are also encouraged to take extra care when travelling through the sites and follow directions of traffic management staff and signage.
Waka Kotahi thanks motorists for their patience while this essential work is undertaken.
Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey. Keep up to date with:
