Tairawhiti Roads is advising that roadworks will begin on Monday 13 May to upgrade the State Highway 2/State Highway 35 intersection near the Jolly Stockman.
The upgrade will see the intersection reconstructed, with asphalt replacing the current chip seal.
Motorists should allow extra time for their journey as delays of up to five minutes are expected.
The work site will be under stop/go traffic management and the upgrade is expected to take two days to complete, depending on weather.
The $600,000 upgrade is funded through the National Land Transport Programme.
