Two detours in place near Kaimai Range, Bay of Plenty

|

The NZ Transport Agency is advising people to avoid two areas of State Highway 29 after two separate serious crashes.

Two detours are in place on State Highway 29. One is at Te Poi in Waikato at the intersection of McNab Road. The detour is via Matamata.

The second is on the Kaimai Range. People heading to Auckland are encouraged to use State Highway 2. Hamilton bound travellers can use  State Highway 36. High productivity motor vehicles need to use State Highway 33 via Paengaroa.

The agency says it’s not yet known when the roads will open but people should use the 0800 number, check our website and social media for the latest information.
