Truck crash Ensors Road/ Brougham St (SH76) intersection – take alternative routes

|

Christchurch drivers who would normally use Brougham St (SH76) and/or Ensors Road are warned that a truck is blocking one lane westbound on the Brougham St/ Ensors Road intersection currently.

The truck crashed after 10.30 am today turning into Brougham St. Traffic is moving slowly on SH76 back towards the port, Garlands Road and also on Ferry Road.

Google maps live traffic patterns at 1.50 pm today:

Recovery after evening peak – after 9 pm

The truck will not be recovered and the full road width restored until after 9 pm tonight to avoid affecting peak hour travellers more than necessary.

“People should avoid Brougham St and the Ensors Road intersection area, particularly heading west from the Lyttelton side, this afternoon, given current delays. These will get worse in the peak afternoon/ early evening period, 3-6 pm,” says Waka Kotahi System Manager Mark Pinner. “Please take an alternative route if you have to travel in the vicinity.”
