Traffic bulletin Monday 14 November update 3am update

|

The NZ Transport Agency is advising people to heed tsunami warnings in the areas affected. For non-essential travel the Transport Agency is advising that people delay travel on State Highway 1 between Picton to Christchurch, and over the Lewis Pass, while contractors make further assessments following a number of earthquakes in the early hours of Monday 14 November. A number of sections of State Highway 1 and State Highway 7 are closed due to slips and visible damage.

In the North Island there are no reports of damage causing road closures but as the situation can change rapidly, the Transport Agency is still advising people to delay non-essential travel.

For those who are travelling to higher ground, there may be more traffic on the roads. Please exercise tolerance and patience.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

For updates on the state highways please call 0800 44 44 49.
