The completion of final surfacing works for the recently opened State Highway 1 Avalon Drive Bypass in Hamilton has been delayed and will recommence on Saturday April 4.
The completion of final surfacing works for the recently opened State Highway 1 Avalon Drive Bypass in Hamilton has been delayed and will recommence on Saturday April 4.
The remaining works will require the Avalon Drive Bypass to be closed for the weekend of the 4th and 5th of April, from 7am Saturday to 7pm Sunday – and overnight from 6.30pm Monday April 6 to 6am Tuesday April 7. The Bypass will be open to traffic during the day on Monday April 6.
The closure of the Bypass will be clearly signposted and SH1 traffic will be diverted through Avalon Drive.
The new two-kilometre bypass was closed during the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of March for preparatory works and these further closures will enable the resurfacing and sealing to be carried out.
These works are weather dependant and may be delayed until after Easter if adverse weather prevents the works being carried out as programmed.
