State Highway 2, Remutaka Hill, has reopened following a fatal crash earlier today (9 October 2022).
The route was closed between Kaitoke and Featherston between approximately 7 am and 11.30 this morning following a serious crash near the Remutaka Hill summit.
Waka Kotahi wants to thank road users for their patience and understanding during the closure.
Regular users of the route are reminded State Highway 2, Remutaka Hill will be closed Sunday and Monday night to allow contractors to do essential maintenance.
