State Highway 1 (SH1) Huntly night closure February 12

State Highway 1 (SH1) traffic travelling between Auckland and Hamilton will be detoured on to local roads while passing through Huntly tomorrow night.

The NZ Transport Agency says a section of SH1 at Huntly will be closed from 8pm Thursday February 12 until 5am the following day to allow contractors to work on a rail crossing.

A signposted detour will be in place during the closure and will take southbound traffic via:

• Fletcher Street
• Right into Hakanoa Street
• Left into Onslow Street
• Right into William Street
• Right into Rayner Road
• Straight through first roundabout (second exit) continuing on Rayner Road
• First left at next roundabout to Tumate Mahuta Drive
• Left into Tainui Bridge Road
• Right to re-join SH1 Great South Road

(North-bound traffic in reverse)

The work is subject to fine weather and a contingency date of Sunday, February 22 has been set aside.
