Slips affecting Gisborne and East Coast highways – caution advised

|

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising drivers to take care and expect delays when travelling on state highways in Gisborne and the East Coast today, with crews at work clearing slips at a number of sites on the network.

Heavy rain overnight has brought down slips at Okitu Hill on SH2, and on SH35 at Hicks Bay, Makorori and the Loisel Gorge.

Crews are on site working to clear slip material, and drivers are asked to comply with all temporary traffic management and speed limits in order to ensure their own safety and the safety of workers clearing the slips.

Waka Kotahi thanks everyone for their patience and understanding while this work is completed.
