Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising that work to improve State Highway 35 Wainui Road will be starting this Friday 10 January.
“To keep the highway safe, we will be resurfacing approximately 1.5 kilometres of Wainui Road, starting from just north of the Oneroa Road intersection,” Regional Transport Systems Manager Oliver Postings says.
Depending on weather, the work is expected to be completed by Thursday 23 January. It will take place between 6am and 6pm each weekday.
Stop-go traffic management will be in place and the speed will be reduced to 30 kilometres per hour while the work is underway.
“Delays of 10 minutes can be expected for motorists passing through the worksite. During peak times, this may increase to 20 minute delays,” Mr Postings says.
“We acknowledge that this will be inconvenient to motorists, but we ask that everyone please adheres to the temporary speed limit and drives carefully through the work site.”
