SH3 between Tariki Road and Denbigh Road just north of Midhirst has now reopened, following a road crash this morning.

SH3 further north, between Manganui Road and Awakau Road, near Awakino remains closed after heavy rainfall caused an under-slip yesterday.

Waka Kotahi is reminding road users to drive to the conditions, keep a safe distance from other vehicles, turn your lights on so you’re more visible to other road users and travel at safe speeds.

Drivers are urged to check road and weather conditions online before they travel. If it’s not safe, please delay your journey.
