The NZ Transport Agency is advising that as part of the work to improve safety on State Highway 2 in the Hawke’s Bay, the road will be closed between Ōmāhu Road roundabout and Flaxmere Road roundabout on Friday 13 September.
Depending on the weather, this section of State Highway 2 will be closed between 9am and 4pm to allow surfacing work to be completed, which can only be done in dry, daytime conditions.
A detour via Wilson Road, Stock Road and Maraekākaho Road will be in place.
One direction will be closed at a time, with the southbound lane closed first, and the northbound lane closing when the work is complete on the southbound lane. All work is expected to be finished before peak hour traffic.
