The NZ Transport Agency advises motorist that State Highway 1B between Taupiri and Cambridge is CLOSED due to a serious crash near Henry Road.
Emergency services are onsite and a detour is being set up and will be confirmed shortly.
The road is expected to be closed for up to three hours and motorists are urged to avoid travelling in the area.

Following on from this, the detour route is via Kerie Road, Dawson Road, Lake Road and back onto SH1B.
