A multi vehicle crash on State Highway 1 at Takanini has closed all northbound lanes and one southbound lane between Takanini and Papakura.
The NZ Transport Agency says northbound traffic should use either the Drury exit or Papakura exit through to Great South Road.
Emergency services are en-route and traffic management will be in place but it may take some time to clear the incident.
Motorists are advised there will be delays and to avoid the area if they can.
