Resurfacing work planned for State Highway 1 Transmission Gully

|

People traveling northbound on State Highway 1 Te Aranui o Te Rangihaeata – Transmission Gully need to be ready for night-time resurfacing works this weekend.

From 5 pm on Sunday, 23 March through to 6 am on Monday, 24 March, road workers will complete resurfacing works north of the Waitangirua Interchange. To minimise disruption, these works are being done overnight when traffic volumes are lighter.

Northbound traffic will be limited to one lane, causing possible travel delays.

Traffic management and a 30 km/h temporary speed limit around the worksite will be in place during the work. Drivers should allow extra time for their journeys.

Drivers must obey all traffic management and temporary speed limits. They are there to keep drivers and road crews safe.

This is essential maintenance to ensure the Transmission Gully Motorway can continue to operate safely and efficiently. Further drainage work is also planned at this location in the coming months.

Works schedule:

Sunday, 23 March. 5 pm – 6 am (finishes Monday morning, 24 March)

  • North of Waitangirua interchange - northbound lane closure for resurfacing works
  • All southbound lanes will remain open
  • North and south on/offramps at the Waitangirua Interchange will still operate.
  • Dates may be subject to change and are dependent on weather and other factors
