State Highway 1 (Greenwood Street) is closed between Killarney St and Duke St following a serious crash.
A short detour is in place via Higgins Rd for northbound motorists and via Ellis St for southbound motorists.
The NZ Transport is asking people to please avoid this area if possible or allow extra time for delays.
