Orams Road bridge re-opens

The NZ Transport Agency is pleased to advise that the Orams Road bridge over SH1 Southern Motorway in Manurewa has re-opened to traffic, two weeks ahead of schedule.

The NZ Transport Agency is pleased to advise that the Orams Road bridge over SH1 Southern Motorway in Manurewa has re-opened to traffic, two weeks ahead of schedule.

“We are delighted that we are able to deliver the bridge back to the community at the earliest possible time,” said The NZ Transport Agency’s Regional Director for Auckland and Northland, Wayne McDonald.

The bridge was badly damaged when it was hit by the boom arm of a digger being towed on the motorway in September.

“We want to thank the local community and motorists for their patience. Without that cooperation, the repairs could have taken longer,” Mr McDonald said.

Although the bridge has-re-opened, some work is still required under the structure. Repair crews will resume normal working hours of 9pm to 5am, Sunday to Thursday.

For any queries or more information about this work, please call 09 5200 200.
