The NZ Transport Agency says State Highway 10 at Kaeo is now open after it was closed due to flooding earlier in the day.
One lane is now open through the Mangamuka Gorge State Highway 1 south of Kaitaia.
Contractors are continuing to clear the slip.
The Transport Agency is advising people to take extra care on the roads.
