The NZ Transport Agency says work to maintain Northland’s state highway network is continuing at a number of locations across the region. Road users are asked to be aware of speed restrictions and changes to the layout of highways for their own safety and the safety of contractors.

State Highway 1 north
Whangarei: highway upgrade from SH1/SH14 to SH1/Selwyn Avenue
Kauri: rail overbridge repairs
Lambs Road/Happy Valley Road: drainage maintenance
Kakawaka – Whakapara: tree trimming
Pakaraka: tree trimming
Otaika Stream Bridge: repairs
Warkworth (Goatley Road): repairs to highway surface
SH1/10: intersection upgrade
Drainage and vegetation maintenance at various locations

Kareponia – Lake Ohia: drainage maintenance
Stanners Road: drainage maintenance
Puketona: tree trimming
Kapiro: repairs to highway shoulder
Te Ahu Ahu Road: right turning bay upgrade
Kaeo: 50kph speed restriction
SH10/SH1: intersection upgrade
SH10/SH11 intersection upgrade

Lemons Hill, Opua, Te Haumi, Whangae: 50kph speed restriction
Waitangi: 70kph speed restriction
Te Haumi: repairs to highway surface
Pahia, School Road: repairs to highway surface
SH11/SH10: intersection upgrade
