Motueka residents and regular users of the roads and roundabout at High Street, Old Wharf Road and King Edward Street, and Tudor and High Streets need to be ready for changes to area roadworks starting this Sunday, 13 November 2022.
We will be resurfacing, reinstating traffic detection loops, and completing line marking at the Tudor and High Street intersection.
This work will run from 13 November to 22 November 2022, with night works happening from 6.30 pm to 5 am.
The entry and exit into Tudor Street from High Street will be closed from 6.30 pm – 5 am each night. A detour will be in place.
Contractors will be paving a new raised pedestrian crossings and reinstating the line markings for the roundabout at High Street, Old Wharf Road and King Edward Street from 15 November. There will also be surfacing and night works being done as well.
This will see some night-time road closures while this work is completed.
From 15 November to 1 December, night works will be occurring every Sunday – Thursday between 6.30 pm and 5 am.
King Edward Street is currently closed 24 hours a day, and this will continue until Friday, 25 November. High Street will be open under stop/go traffic management during the night and open as usual during the daytime.
Pedestrian access is being maintained with safety measures in place to keep people separated from road work areas. Clear signs and directions will be in place. Pedestrians are urged to follow them to keep themselves and others safe.
