NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is apologising for heavy delays along State Highway 1 between Wellsford and Topuni due to summer road works.
Jacqui Hori-Hoult, Regional Manager Maintenance and Operations apologises for the impact that this has had on motorists.
“We are working with our contractor, Fulton Hogan to determine how this has occurred and ensure this does not happen again.
“As soon as we were made aware of the situation, the Stop/Go was removed and two lanes were restored to service” says Ms Hori-Hoult.
The road is now open to two lanes.
