Important information for drivers.
Lower North Island
- Drivers travelling on State Highway 1 between Wgtn and Tawa can expect to see a series of work sites next week. Resurfacing work is planned for the urban motorway and also on State highway 1 near Tawa.
- A night closure is planned on Sunday night for State Highway 2 in Lower Hutt, between Petone and Dowse Drive. The highway will be closed to northbound traffic between 9 pm and 4 am for asphalt resurfacing.
- During the April school holidays Wellington Water will be working on a sewer main that runs under State Highway 2 in the Hutt Valley. This repair is expected to take around two weeks (24/7) to complete and will affect traffic with a lane closure on the highway expected. More information can be found on the Wellington Water website:
Top of the South Island
- Road rebuilding work gets underway from this Sunday on State Highway 1 at Grovetown, and similar work is ongoing on State Highway 6 near Pelorus until 21 March. Night closures also continue on State Highway 6 between Hira and Rai Valley.
- There will be a two-hour closure on State Highway 6 at Dellows Bluff for rock blasting on Tuesday, starting just before midday.
